Brought in to bring discipline and structure to reporting process.  Ran Sales Operations. Program Manager and Architect for the development and initial distribution of  an innovative Lotus-notes based Project Management Reference and Control Book application [ViewPoint] used to track and store information for complex multi-year strategic outsourcing engagements. Application evolved to a strategic IBM tool [POST] and a process {PMP} which is used worldwide.


 

Contract Initiation Services Manager   Assisted Project Executives and their staff  in the start up of over two dozen major outsourcing contracts ranging in size from $50M to $3B+ across industries.  Developed a contract initiation model, contract initiation methodologies and tools, and authored a primer for contract start up which is still  used on contracts worldwide.

Proposal Development Manager on a $14 million SI Proposal for State of Virginia ABC Store project.

Project Manager on an Officers Workbench application development project for a large regional bank.

Project Manager of a nationally recognized statewide highly-customized $25 million Systems Integration Point-Of-Sale Project [Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board], which had two full software development cycles and 666 store installations over a 31-month period. The project was completed 5 months early and $2 million under budget. Processes and procedures developed on the project were subsequently used on other major System Integration projects. Developed a standardized Project Plan format which won an IBM National Quality Award and which was used internationally within IBM

Project Management Consultant engaged by a mid-sized bank to manage startup of a credit card application processing system

Proposal Development SOW Team Lead on two winning $25 million SI Proposals [PA Courts, PLCB] and several smaller consulting assignments

Project Office Consultant for a $10+ million Application Development Project which developed innovative project control techniques that were used nationally within IBM.

Manager of MIS for $100+ million division of RCA with five large HP minicomputers and remote IBM host-based systems.  Managed 21 people and administered a budget of $2.1 million.  Developed first Division Systems Strategic Plan, instituted MIS departmental controls, and developed and implemented a Hardware Upgrade Plan. Planned for and managed a major modifications to Order-Ship-Bill software package for the US plant, implemented the system in a Canadian subsidiary, planned for and started upgrade of an MRP package, and implemented EDI and barcode technology in purchasing and warehousing.

Manager of Systems and Data Processing for a $100+ million division of a heavy industrial equipment manufacturer Allis-Chalmers.  Took over a decimated MIS organization at the request of GM & VP to "turn around" a minicomputer vendor conversion (DEC and IBM) supporting all business areas. Successfully completed the conversion on a "crash" basis in five months. Instituted DP documentation and control procedures. Started up implementation of an integrated manufacturing and accounting software package. Managed a $1 million budget.  Reorganized and re-staffed entire MIS organization.
